La Coruña Revisited

Day 5, 11.10.2018, La Coruña, Spain,

My third time to La Coruña. The first time was with Dan and Ian after a rough Biscay crossing early September 2007. We didn’t do much. Just wandered the streets a little and rested up. The second time was in August of 2017 with Heike on the AIDAbella enroute from Kiel to Venice. We rented a convertible and drove down to Santiago de Compostela for a bit of a pilgrimage.

It was murky and rainy this morning. I went ashore and bought a yoga mat for H and got some coffee capsules and enough booze to last until the next port. A lot of cruise lines don’t allow you to bring stuff on board, as they want to make money from selling sticky cocktails, but it’s OK on this one after the embarkation port. I got a supply of sugar-free tonic to go with the Mother’s Ruin.  Why you can’t get it in Germany and on German ships is a puzzle.

It had brightened up by the afternoon.
